New 345kV Electric Transmission Line Construction — Public Comment Meetings October 10-11, 2023

August 26, 2023

ITC recently filed a Construction Plan with the Michigan Public Service Commission.  Through its filing, ITC has proposed to construct 40 miles of new 345kV electric transmission line extending from its existing Nelson Road Substation in New Haven Township, Gratiot County, south to its existing Oneida Substation in Oneida Township, Eaton County.  ITC’s filing includes both a proposed and alternate route.  This new transmission line may pass through the following Clinton County municipalities (from north to south): Lebanon Township; Dallas Township; Westphalia Township; Village of Westphalia; and Eagle Township.

In order to answer residents questions and gather feedback, ITC will host a series of Public Meetings in an open house format on October 10 and 11, 2023.  Interested area residents are encouraged to attend any one of the meetings to learn more about the proposed plan, ask questions, and provide feedback.  This will be an informal opportunity to talk with the project team. No formal presentation will be given so you can attend any time during the open house.

Click here for a full open house schedule. The open house at Eagle Township Hall, 14318 Michigan St, Eagle, MI will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
