PLEASE AVOID POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS OF GOVERNOR’S EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020-21

March 27, 2020

Please be advised that Eagle Township cautions individuals and businesses to avoid violating the Michigan Governor’s Executive Order 2020-21.

Please review the Governor’s Executive Order and determine if your activities or those of your business are deemed “essential” under that order. A copy of the order and related Frequently Asked Questions are posted on the state’s website at https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_98455-522631–,00.html

If it appears that any activities or operations may be in violation of the order, a complaint may be made to the Clinton County Sheriff, Clinton County Prosecutor or Michigan Attorney General for review and possible action. MCL 10.33 and MCL 30.405(3) make a willful violation of Executive Order 2020-21 a criminal misdemeanor punishable by 90 days in jail and/or a $500.00 fine.

These are confusing times for all of us, but we all need to do our part to halt and control the spread of the COVID-19 virus and help protect our families, our friends, and our community. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
